Project overview
Foreigners often face significant challenges in communicating with healthcare providers in Thailand due to language differences. This can lead to misunderstandings, incomplete information sharing, and overall dissatisfaction with the medical experience. Cura is a mobile application that help international patients to have tailored treatment services.
Helping you easily understand healthcare in Thailand.
Many international patients face uncertainty, confusion, and frustration when trying to access care in a country where language and systems differ from their own. The goal is to design a solution that empowers them with clarity, confidence, and control throughout their medical journey.
We propose a multilingual, user-friendly platform designed to guide foreigners through every step of their healthcare journey in Thailand. It would offer clear communication tools, verified provider information, appointment scheduling support, and easy-to-follow system navigation.

Customer Segmentation
Our customer segments include tourists, senior travelers, business travelers, medical tourists, and wellness tourists in Thailand. Each group needs clear and trustworthy healthcare information to navigate the system easily. They value convenient access and support during their stay.
Market Segmentation
Thailand has around 4 million foreigners (TAM). About 300,000 of them work and live in the country long-term (SAM). Our target market is the 100,000 high-income earners (80,000+ THB/month) most likely to pay for clear, accessible healthcare support.

We created personas based on foreigners’ healthcare journeys
To better understand the challenges foreigners face in Thailand’s healthcare system, we created personas based on our interviews. Each one highlights common challenges — from language barriers to finding reliable medical information — and the ways they’ve tried to manage care during their stay.

Key learnings
Through this project, I learned to better understand the healthcare struggles that foreigners face while living or traveling in Thailand. By talking to users and creating personas, I realized how language barriers and confusing systems can affect their medical experience. Working with my team helped me come up with ideas that make healthcare feel more accessible and less stressful.
Sharing our research, insights, and solutions taught me how to communicate clearly through visuals like personas and wireframes. I also improved my critical thinking and research skills by listening to feedback and refining our work. Most importantly, I learned how collaboration and empathy can lead to meaningful design solutions for real-world problems.
